TRAVEL ALERT

ABOUT LANDING AT SAMARA AIRPORT
(KUF) AS
YOUR FIRST STOP / POINT OF ENTRY IN RUSSIA

Customs and Immigration officials at Samara Airport have begun to detain foreign visitors who land at Samara Airport (KUF) as their initial entry point in Russia, and have placed them on a plane the following moring to their countries of origin. Be they American, German, or otherwise. For this reason we advise all of our clients to travel through Moscow on their way to Samara Airport. Landing on a domestic flight (out of Moscow) poses no problems whatsoever. Landing at Samara Airport as your first stop on Russian soil will bring you untold heartache and difficulties.

For this reason alone we warn all clients to fly through Moscow Airport (SVO), and thus catch connecting flights to Samara Airport (KUF). While the sometimes slow and cumbersome wait at the Moscow Passport Control lines (based soley upon the need to update an incredibly dated and slow computer system), we have never seen nor experienced any delays or difficulties from any government or police officials flying through the Moscow Airport (SVO).

DO NOT FLY THE FRANKFURT - SAMARA LUFTHANSA ROUTE
